Service Opportunities with UHP

The Urban Health Program (UHP) has a number of opportunities for CON students (or faculty) to help in its mission.  Please take a look at the following and email cjacks4@uic.edu if you are interested in serving.

 

Thursday, February 15th from 1:15-2:15PM

Team Englewood High school presentation at Englewood

Need at least four CON students to share their experience of being a nursing student and future as a nurse.  Teach one or two nursing skills (i.e. blood pressure, infectious disease control)

Thursday, March 1st from 10AM-1PM

Westinghouse College Prep to Visit CON

Need at least four CON students to share their experience of being a nursing student and future as a nurse.  These students would also lead lab demos.

 

Wednesday, March 7 from 3-4PM

PAP Health Science Meet & Greet at SEO, Room 1000 (10th Floor)

Need two or three CON students to come share with prospective UIC undergrads about nursing and nursing school

 

Wednesday, March 7 from 5-6PM and then 6-7:30PM

Champions After School Club at UIC College of Medicine East Tower, Room 367

Need at least three CON students to lead workshop/demo from 5-6pm; and several students to help high school students with SAT/ACT prep or homework from 6-7:30PM.

 

Monday, March 12 from 8AM-3PM

Homewood Floosmoor Career Day at Homewood

Need several CON students to help with the recruitment table (in shifts of two hours if possible).  Speak with students about the nursing profession and nursing school at UIC.

 

Friday, March 16th from 1-3:30PM

UIC College Prep to visit CON

Need at least four CON students to share their experience of being a nursing student and future as a nurse.  These students would also lead lab demos.
