Undergraduate Elective - NUEL 394: Issues in Global Health

Dear Undergraduate Students,

You can now register for a unique global health opportunity to participate in a course with visiting students from Japan and South Korea with the elective NUEL 394: Special Topics – Issues in Global Health (CRN: 41212, for 3 Credits in Fall 2017*).

Issues in Global Health is a Fall 2017*, 2-week course, that takes place this summer

July 10 – July 21, 2017*
Monday – Friday
9am – 3pm
NURS 159 (Chicago campus).
In person attendance is required.

Some of the issues in global health nursing that will be discussed, include:

  • Global Health Leadership
  • Women’s Health
  • Child Health
  • Communicable and Non-Communicable Diseases
  • Mental Health (including Substance Use Problems)

Learning activities include:

  • Lectures from a diverse group of presenters, covering a wide variety of disciplines and global health topics
  • cross-cultural discussions
  • a one-day community assessment visit (includes a visit to a health or social service organization, restaurant, and walking tour)  
  • and a group presentation and paper on related topics
