SNSJ: Toiletry Drive for Moms United Against Violence and Incarceration - (6/4-6/22)

Prison commissaries serve as the major prison retail market and are yet another way in which prisons shift the costs of incarceration to incarcerated people and their families. Exorbitant fees for phone calls and emails and now an incarcerated person can expect to spend an entire days earnings on one item from the commissary. This includes basic needs such as food and hygiene products.

SNSJ: Summit of Hope - 6/7 & 6/27

Don't forget to register for the Summit of Hope! You can be a big help in someone's life. Help ex-offenders get a new start by connecting them with the resources they need to be successful: sate ID, counseling, food, clothing, shelter. Without these things, many in this high risk population will find it much harder to get off on the right foot.

Travel Funding Opportunity (Graduate Students only)

UIC Health Professions Student Council (HPSC) Quarter 1 Travel Grant applications open Wednesday, May 16

Travel grant applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until they hit the maximum amount of funding allocated for the quarter. Once the cap has been reached, additional applicants are put on a waitlist.

Tutoring - Summer Session

During the 2018 Summer Session, the College of Nursing will offer free tutoring for students. The tutors are current UIC students who excel in their programs and are able to dedicate time to tutoring others. Tutoring can be face to face, over the phone, through Skype or email and may be accessed by students at different campuses.

CON students sometimes discover they have a UIC account hold preventing their class registration. The attached guide provides students with a list of common hold types and contact information to have the hold(s) removed.
